Why did the critic reject my painting and give me a terrible score?

Based on player feedback, the most common mistake is ignoring the background! The game's judging system looks at the overall pixel and color accuracy across the entire canvas. If you perfectly draw the main subject but leave the background completely blank white, your accuracy percentage will drop significantly. Make sure to fill the canvas!

Is there a way to undo a mistake if I use the wrong color?

A true scam artist has to roll with their mistakes! There is no traditional "Undo" button (Ctrl+Z) in the game. If you accidentally place a giant streak of neon green across the Mona Lisa's face, you will have to quickly select the correct skin tone and manually paint over your mistake before the timer runs out.

How do I move or delete an item?

Click and hold the item to pick it up. Move it to another position, or drag it onto the trash can in the lower-right corner to delete it. The developer explained this in response to a player who had run out of space for a statue.

Can I rearrange entire rooms?

Yes. Use the room’s rearrangement arrows to swap it with a neighboring room. The updated interface displays these controls for the room closest to the camera.

Does Scam Artist save automatically?

According to the developer, it should. A player reported losing progress, but the reply did not establish a cause or a confirmed fix. Automatic saving is intended behavior, rather than a guarantee against save issues.

Why have customers stopped using one of my machines?

Players reported this after rearranging items or rooms in earlier builds. One said holding the affected machine made customers use it again, but this was a player-reported workaround.Later patch notes mention room-rearrangement fixes, so those older reports may not describe the behavior of your current build.

Do I have to collect all the money manually?

No. Once available, Money Suckers automate cash collection in the room where you place them.
