Turball.io
About This Game
Rocket League needs more than 20 GB of space before you touch a ball. Turball.io, according to its developer Era54 (the studio behind Retakes.io), gets you to your first interaction in under a second on average. That is the pitch, and it mostly delivers: open the page, hit Play, and you are boosting a rocket car into a giant ball before your friends have even finished asking what you are playing.
It is proper car soccer, too, not a stripped-down toy. You jump, flip, dodge, powerslide, air roll, and fight over boost pads, all in your browser.
Your First Kickoff
New players get a short 3-step First Kickoff guide that walks you through the basics, and it is genuinely worth doing. After that, every match runs on a 5:00 clock. Your boost meter goes from 0 to 100 and refills when you drive over the boost pads scattered around the arena, so half the game is knowing when to chase the ball and when to grab a pad instead.
Six Flavors of Car Soccer
Casual is where you will probably spend your first hour. Beyond the classic 1v1 Duel, 2v2 Doubles, and 3v3 Standard, there are three twists worth trying:
- 3v3 Rumble: The chaotic one, for when a normal match feels too tidy.
- 2v2 Hoops: Basketball-style scoring, where your jump timing matters even more.
- 3v3 Snow Day: A hockey-flavored take on the formula.
Training / Free Play is the no-pressure zone for practicing touches, and Private Match lets you set things up your own way.
Ladders, Brackets and a 100-Tier Pass
Once you are comfortable, Competitive is waiting. Win 5 matches and you get your first rank. If you would rather chase a trophy, Tournaments start every 30 minutes with 32 teams, and first place takes 1,000 credits. Empty slots get filled with bots, so the bracket always runs.
Between games, the Season 1 Turball Pass has 100 tiers of free and premium rewards: hats, ball designs, animated decals, and painted items. Daily missions hand out crates and XP, credits go toward the Item Shop, and the Garage is where you make your car look the part. Clubs and leaderboards round it all out.
How do I do aerials in Turball.io?
Jump with right mouse (or L), then hold boost with left mouse (or K) while you are in the air. W and S tilt your car’s nose up and down, and Q and E roll it. Practice in Training: press 4 to pop the ball up, and use Backspace to reset the shot as many times as you need.
How do I flip or dodge in Turball.io?
Jumping, flipping, and dodging all share one button: right mouse, L, or the apostrophe key. If you have played Rocket League, the timing will feel familiar. If not, head into Free Play and get used to it before your next match.
Is Turball.io like Rocket League?
Very much so in spirit. It is rocket-car soccer with boost, jumps, flips, air roll, and ranked play, and Era54 openly compares the two. The big difference is that Turball.io runs in your browser with no install.

Both work. Controllers are supported, and every control can be rebound in Settings. The default keyboard layout uses WASD with the mouse for boost and jump. Arrow keys are not bound by default, so map them yourself if you prefer them.
