Murder Mystery 2 Online
About This Game
Murder Mystery 2 Online is a blocky hidden-role game published by Prime Web Publish and built by the Russian developer MinerKa. Every round drops a full lobby onto a voxel map with a 3:00 clock, and one player is secretly holding a knife. A counter in the corner labelled Peaceful shows how many innocent players are still standing, and it only goes down.
You can play online with other people or alone against bots when nobody else is around. Between rounds there is a lot to unlock: 76 skins, 14 pets, 31 hats, trails and accessories, plus a dozen-plus knives that climb from wood and stone up to diamond and netherite.
One Round, Three Points of View
The Peaceful majority
Most rounds you start with nothing but empty hands and a hotbar. Gold ingots are scattered around the map, and the game tells you straight away what they are for: collect 10 gold and you get a gun. That turns a plain survivor into an armed one, and the role list in the game files calls that player the Hero. Until then your best friends are long sightlines and other players, because a knife has to get close to work.
The Detective
One player starts with the pistol and a one-line brief: find the killer and shoot him. The killer wears the same kind of blocky skin as everyone else, so the Detective has to watch who drifts away from the group, who keeps following people into side rooms and who is always nearby when the Peaceful counter drops. Shooting too early is the easiest way to lose a round that was going well.
The one with the knife
The killer looks exactly like everyone else until the blade comes out. The trick is patience: pick off players who wander alone, stay out of the Detective's line of fire and let the Peaceful counter tick down without drawing a crowd.
What Happens Between Rounds
Thirteen maps on the vote
Maps are chosen by a vote, and the list is long: Miner Land, Towerfall, Office, Library, Cruise, The Tomb, Wild West, Hollywood, Bank, House, Mansion, MillBase and Research Facility. The names give a good idea of the range, from an office block and a bank vault to a cruise ship, an old tomb and a Wild West town, all rebuilt out of blocks.
Cups, money and diamonds
There are three counters on the lobby screen. Cups are your rank, and the rank badges are styled after Counter-Strike, from Bronze and Silver up to Legend, Supreme and Global; the game tells you how many more cups you need for the next promotion. Money and diamonds pay for skins, pets and weapon skins, and the shop also hands out a small amount of each for watching a video.
A second mode with real guns
The game files also include a Deathmatch mode where two teams, Reds and Blues, respawn and fight with a full armory: Glock, Deagle, Uzi, P90, AK-47, SCAR, AWP, a Nova shotgun, an M249, a minigun and even a grenade launcher. Kills, deaths and K/D are tracked on a separate stats screen.
