Ruling the galaxy requires a perfect balance of farming resources and intense dogfighting. Here is how you can build the ultimate spaceship:

1. Mine Asteroids: When you spawn as a Tier 1 ship (the Fly), your weapons are weak. Start shooting floating asteroids to break them apart and collect the red glowing gems left behind.
2. Upgrade Your Stats: As you collect gems, you can spend them on the bottom of your screen to upgrade your ship's specific stats: Shield Capacity, Shield Regeneration, Energy Capacity, Energy Regeneration, Laser Damage, and Ship Speed/Agility.
3. Evolve Your Ship: Once your ship's gem cargo is completely full, you can evolve! You will be given a choice to upgrade to a larger, more powerful Tier ship with entirely different firing mechanics and heavier armor.

Play Your Starblast Mode:

• Team Mode: Join one of three factions. Mine gems and deposit them into your team’s main Space Station to upgrade the base, unlock higher-tier ships, and eventually destroy the enemy bases.
• Survival Mode: A free-for-all deathmatch. Mine, upgrade, and fight. Eventually, the sun will go supernova, triggering a sudden-death radiation phase where only the strongest ship survives!

Is Starblast.io pay to win?

No. While cosmetic upgrades and premium features exist, experienced players generally agree that skill, positioning, and game knowledge matter far more than purchases.

How do I deposit gems in Team Mode?

To help your team level up, you must bring your collected gems back to your team's massive Space Station. Simply fly directly into the center of your station and hold the "V" key on your keyboard to deposit your crystals. Once the station levels up, your entire team can evolve to higher-tier ships!

How do I get secondary weapons like missiles and rockets?

In Team Mode, once your base is upgraded enough, a depot unlocks at the station where you can spend gems to buy secondary weapons like rockets, torpedoes, and mining lasers. In Survival Mode, you can randomly find these items floating in space inside cargo drop pods.

Why did I suddenly start taking damage over time?

If you are playing Survival mode and your screen turns reddish and your ship starts losing shields without anyone shooting you, the "Radiation Phase" has begun! This happens at the end of the match to force a sudden-death scenario. You must have a high-tier ship and heavily upgraded shields to survive this final showdown.

Which upgrade path is the best?

It completely depends on your playstyle! If you like fast, hit-and-run tactics, upgrading along the "Shadow" class path (Shadow X-1, X-2) gives you incredible speed. If you prefer slow but massive damage, the "Sniper" or "Defender" paths will lead you to incredibly tanky ships like the Odyssey or the Advanced Fighter.
