Created by JujuProdGames, the game draws inspiration from the Backrooms phenomenon and Kane Pixels' interpretation of the universe. The empty rooms, unsettling sounds and mysterious entities are still part of the experience, but the 2D perspective gives this version a distinct identity.

How to Play Backrooms 2D?

Every level drops you into another strange section of the Backrooms.

Explore the environment and search for the exit while keeping an eye on everything around you. Levels can contain long corridors, interconnected rooms, open areas and dangerous entities that begin chasing you when you get too close.

There isn't always an obvious path to follow. Much of the game revolves around exploring until you discover the correct route or the indicator leading toward the exit.

Some sections can also generate differently or take time to appear, so rushing blindly into unexplored areas isn't always a good idea.

How do I find the exit when the map is so huge?

Because the game uses procedural generation (loading "chunks" of the map as you walk), the elevator might spawn far away from your starting point. Keep exploring and running from monsters. Eventually, a small arrow will pop up on your screen follow it directly to the elevator!

What are the black holes on the floor?

As mentioned by the community, these black pits lead straight to "the void." If you fall in, you will experience endless falling. In some versions of the game, you can rapidly click where your character fell to "help them up" and escape the trap!
